When Gerard Butler talked to OTRC.com about filming "Chasing Mavericks" and surfing for the film, he spoke openly about the potentially fatal surfing accident he had while shooting the film late last year.
The 42-year-old actor was held under the waves at the real Maverick's Point, a popular break located near Half Moon Bay, and then rescued by firefighters. He was then taken to a local hospital for observation and released later in the day.
Gerard Butler recently completed a rehab stint to reportedly treat a prescription medication addiction that he developed following a surfing accident.
On the afternoon of December 18, the 42-year-old Scottish "300" actor was filming the movie "Of Men and Mavericks" and was held under the waves at the real Maverick's Point, a popular break located near Half Moon Bay. He was rescued and taken to a local hospital for observation and released later in the day.
Gerard Butler was rated an "11" out of 10 for his bedroom skills by "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville, but apparently the affair wasn't as memorable to the actor.
TMZ caught up with Butler after Glanville's interview aired (see video below) and asked the "300" actor for advice since he was rated so highly. Butler only had one thing to say, "Who's Brandi Glanville?"
Brandi Glanville, who stars in "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," got candid this week and talked about the most famous person she's hooked up with - Gerard Butler.
"It was a little week of fun... over the summer," Glanville, who was previously married to Eddie Cibrian, said on Bravo's talk show "Watch What Happens Live."
Gerard Butler has opened up about the potentially fatal surfing accident he recently sustained while filming the movie "Of Men and Mavericks" in Northern California.
"This was maybe one of the few times that the reports were not exaggerated," Butler said on the UK's "The Graham Norton Show," in an episode set to air on Friday. "It was a pretty close call... [The waves] just took me and I couldn't get up. It was pretty hairy."

Gerard Butler nails his tough guy roles with gusto, but the actor was put to the test when he was hit with stray bullet casings during filming for his newest flick, "Machine Gun Preacher."
"We didn't really didn't think this scene out," Butler told OnTheRedCarpet.com co-host Chris Balish at the film's Hollywood premiere. "We're all standing in a line and having a shoot-out and even though they're blank bullets, the actual bullet casings still come out the side and they're red-hot and they're moving fast. I was standing there shooting and I get smacked in the head and I go down and when I get up, my head's pouring blood."
