George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis don't want children
George Clooney's girlfriend, Italian model and actress Elisabetta Canalis says that the couple will not be having any children in the future as their dogs are enough for her.
"[Getting pregnant has] never been an objective for me," Canalis, 32, told the Italian edition of Cosmopolitan magazine. "My maternal desires are fully satisfied with my dogs."
Clooney has expressed his disinterest in fatherhood himself and once told Vogue magazine that he has no interest in having children and doesn't believe it is a thing that should be done "casually." In 1996, two of Clooney's female friends, Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman bet the actor $10,000 each that he would be a father by the age of 40. Clooney is 49-years-old.
Clooney and Canalis have been dating since 2009. The 49-year-old actor was previously married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 until 1993. In January, Clooney told Piers Morgan that he has no intentions of getting married again.
"I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married," said Clooney. "Yeah, so I've proven how good I was at it, and I just. ... I'm allowed one."
Clooney has been named People magazine's sexiest man alive twice and was recently the subject of a mural entitled "God's Gift To Women," where the artist recreated part of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel painting, putting Clooney's head on Adam's body.
Clooney has been spending time in Cincinnati lately, filming scenes for his upcoming movie, "The Ides of March," which is slated for release in 2012.
