Watch out Justin Bieber - there's a new reigning king of YouTube in town. PSY, a 34-year-old South Korean rapper whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, is the new king of YouTube after his viral music video, "Gangnam Style," surpassed Bieber's 2010 music video "Baby" as the most-watched clip in the history of the site. The rapper Tweeted his excitement about the news on November 24, posting: "#GangnamStyle just became the most watched video @YouTube!! #History http://youtu.be/9bZkp7q19f0." PSY's July 2012 dance hit is dominating pop-culture viewership with its current 816,175,123 views - only four months after the video's initial release. Bieber's February 2010 music video for "Baby," with 804,669,690 views, became the reigning YouTube champion in July 2010, five months after its initial release. On September 21, it was announced that the music video for "Gangnam Style" had broken a world record after becoming the "most liked" video on YouTube. At press time, the video had 2,290,836 likes on YouTube and the Guinness World Records announced that "Gangnam Style" beat out LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," which had 1,576,538 likes. "Having been the 'Have you seen this?!' video of the last two months across the web, it's great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video," Guinness World Records Community Manager Dan Barrett said in a statement on September 20. "In years past it was unthinkable that something would be viewed a hundred million times, and now 'Gangnam Style' has achieved more than twice this figure in just 3 months on YouTube." "Gangnam Style" is also the most-viewed Korean pop music video on YouTube and marks the first time a South Korean artist has topped the iTunes charts, where he currently remains No. 1. The rapper recently appeared at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards on Sunday, November 18, where famous musician MC Hammer joined him on stage to perform the popular "Gangnam Style" dance for the show's finale. Psy has also recently appeared on the MTV Video Music Awards, "Ellen," "Today" and "Saturday Night Live." During his visit to "Ellen," Psy helped teach Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres to do the "Gangnam Style" dance, which involves trotting and some complicated foot movements.
