The hit shows "Game of Thrones" and "Breaking Bad," the HBO film "Behind The Candelabra" and actor and comedian Louis C.K. were among the winners of the 2013 Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards.
Veteran ABC newswoman and "The View" co-host Barbara Walters, who plans to retire from television in 2014 after some 50 years, was honored with a Career Achievement Award. Also, "All In The Family," the hit 1970s sitcom starring the late Carroll O'Connor as Archie Bunker, received the Heritage Award for "the cultural and social impact the program has had on society."
"Game of Thrones" cast members Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington accepted the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Drama in person (see photo, above). Other celebrities who attended the event and took home prizes included Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones of "Parks and Recreation" and Louis C.K., who won Individual Achievement in Comedy for his FX show "Louis."
The winners were named at the group's 29th annual award ceremony at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of the Comedy Central series "Key & Peele" hosted the event.
The TCA is made up of more than 220 television critics and journalists from the United States and Canada. The award show was not broadcast on television and took place amid TCA panel events for major networks and cable stations, who are revealing news about their upcoming new and returning shows.
