Gabourey Sidibe has best response to critics over her Golden Globes look
"Precious" and "American Horror Story" star Gabourey Sidibe has fired back at people who criticized her look at the 2014 Golden Globes, while maintaining her trademark sense of humor.
The Oscar-nominated 30-year-old actress wore a shimmering, cream-colored gown with a sparkling front accent at the Sunday event (see PHOTOS of her and other stars on the red carpet at the Golden Globes).
"To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night. #JK (sic)," she tweeted.
"Yay! Everyone is so wonderful and supportive of my shade!" she added. "This might be a problem down the line. Thank you! #notmyjetthough #imnotthatfancy."
Sidibe rose to fame playing an overweight, pregnant teenager in Lee Daniels' movie "Precious" and earned an Oscar nomination for her role. She currently plays Queenie on the FX series "American Horror Story: Coven."
In 2009, Sidibe said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had started her first diet at age 6.
One day, I had to sit down with myself and decide that I love myself, no matter what my body looked like and no matter what other people thought of my body," she said. "I had to love myself. I was like 21ish, 22ish when I decided. I just got tired of feeling bad all the time."
