TNT announced on Tuesday that the series "Franklin & Bash" has been renewed for a second season. The show stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, a 37-year-old actor best known for his role as Zack Morris on the 1990s teen comedy series "Saved By The Bell," and Breckin Meyer of "Clueless" and "Road Trip" fame. The two play unorthodox lawyers who are hired by a firm run by Malcolm McDowell's character. The series permeired on June 1. "This summer, 'Franklin & Bash' has broken out as a hugely entertaining series with great characters, sharp writing and a terrific cast," Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies said in a statement. "We're thrilled that the show has drawn such a remarkably strong following and look forward to bringing it back next summer." "Before they were brought in by this new law firm, they're pretty much ambulance chasers," Meyer told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Chris Balish in a June video interview. Gosselaar called the show a "buddy piece," adding: "It is a legal drama but there's a lot of comedy woven throughout." Gosselaar took to his Twitter page to thank fans for the series renewal. "Thanks to all the supporters. We wouldn't have a season 2 of #FandB if weren't for you," he wrote on Tuesday. The series also stars Dana Davis, Kumail Nanjiani and Garcelle Beauvais.
