Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of late rocker Kurt Cobain, celebrates 18th birthday
The only child of late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and rocker Courtney Love is celebrating a huge milestone - her 18th birthday.
Frances Bean Cobain was born on August 18, 1992, and may inherit millions from a fund set up shortly after her fathers death, according to MTV. Frances Bean was just 20 months old when Cobain committed suicide on April 8, 1994.
After her birth, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services investigated her parents amid claims of drug abuse. The case was later dismissed. She was named after Frances McKee, the guitarist for the Scottish indie pop duo The Vaselines, and the fact that Cobain thought she looked like a kidney bean on Love's ultrasound.Cobain caused a minor controversy when she celebrated her Sweet 16 with a suicide-themed party at the House of Blues club in Los Angeles, according to the New York Daily News.
As for the rock offsprings future, she seems to be a budding artist. In early July, she debuted a collection of sketches at Los Angeles La Luz de Jesus gallery under the pseudonym Tim Fiddle. She has also interned at Rolling Stone in the past.
