Eva Longoria divorcing Tony Parker amid cheating reports
Eva Longoria has filed for divorce from NBA player Tony Parker after three years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
Mario Lopez, a host of the television show "Extra" and friend of the 35-year-old "Desperate Housewives" actress, said Longoria found hundreds of text messages from another woman on Parker's phone, who turned out to be the wife of one of the NBA player's teammates. Parker has not commented.
The program also quoted an unnamed source as saying Parker cheated on her with another woman, with whom he kept in touch via Facebook.
"Eva wants everyone to know, she's devastated by the rumors of Tony's infidelity," "Extra" quoted Lopez as saying. "She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split. But she's strong."
Longoria filed for divorce on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles Superior Court, documents show. She and Parker, who is 28 and who plays for the San Antonio Spurs, were married on July 7, 2007 in France, where Parker was raised. They have no children together.
"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," Longoria wrote on her Twitter page. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
The divorce filing states that the couple had a prenuptial agreement and that the actress, who had taken Parker's last name, is requesting to have her name restored to Eva Jacqueline Longoria.
Her spokesperson had said on Tuesday that reports Parker was filing for divorce from her were false. This was Longoria's second marriage. She was married to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004.
