Eva Green proud of 'Dark Shadows' sex scene with Johnny Depp (Video)
Eva Green is known for her darker roles, making it no surprise that the French actress ended up in Tim Burton's vampire film "Dark Shadows" - with the added bonus of snuggling up to co-star Johnny Depp.
"It is the first sex scene in a Tim Burton film," Green told OnTheRedCarpet.com of her kooky on-screen love scene with Depp. "So, here we go - [I'm] very proud. It took several days, I mean, it took maybe three days, and then the stunt people who did all the hard stuff, probably for a good week. It's a very funny scene, for sure."
"Dark Shadows" hit theaters on Friday, May 11. Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a playboy vampire who was buried alive for more than 200 years after breaking the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard, played by Green. The film is based on a 1960s soap opera. Burton made his film adaptation a comedy set in 1972. While the movie is based on the older soap opera, Green admitted that Bouchard is "too far away from the original one," and that she essentially "created her own character."
The 31-year-old actress, perhaps best known for bringing Daniel Craig to tears as a bond girl in "Casino Royale," has been in a number of films, but this marks her first time working under the esteemed director. Green explained to OnTheRedCarpet that she and Burton just hit it off.
"We really kind of got on," Green said. "We met three times before I got the role, and he asked me what I thought about the character, and we just kind of got on - it was a miracle actually that I got the part, I pinch myself everyday - I'm so happy. It was a great collaboration, too. We really built the character together and that was wonderful."
"I don't know how he could guess that I could maybe be so coo-coo," she continued. "I love the fact that he just trusted me."
In March 2011, Green's independent and twisted romantic thriller "Cracks" came out in a limited release after touring film festivals. In the film, Green, 30, plays Miss G, a glamorous and beloved swim teacher at a 1930s boarding school who regales her students with exotic tales, but in reality, she has never left the school. When a student arrives from Spain and posesses all the qualities Miss G plays at, she becomes obsessed with the girl and the other students are afraid to lose their favorite teacher.
The French actress has a habit of portraying very complex characters, in her first role in Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Dreamers," the actress played a Parisian who had an incestuous relationship with her twin brother, to whom she was formerly conjoined. The movie, which also starred Michael Pitt as an American exchange student who falls in love with the twins, garnered attention for its nudity and sexual content which has caused the actress to worry about nudity in her roles.
Green starred in the 2011 Starz series "Camelot" as the sorceress Morgan le Fay and is rumored to appear in the 2013 film "300: Battle of Artemisia."
