Etta James is not dead but is the latest celebrity to have fallen victim to an online death hoax, her son announced on Thursday. "She's fine. I just saw her last night and she was fine," her son Donto James told the Los Angeles Times. Announcements of the 73-year-old singer's death flooded Twitter after a fake TMZ story was posted on a hoax site on Wednesday evening. Though the legendary blues and R & B singer is seriously ill, she is resting in her Riverside, Calif. home. James is undergoing treatment for leukemia and was also diagnosed with dementia. She has been in and out of the hospital for the past few years. James is best known for her songs "At Last" and "Tell Mama." She was last on tour three years ago and overcame drug addiction and weight problems. James' husband and son are currently engaged in a court battle over her medical care and over $1 million in savings, according to the Los Angeles Times, but both are committed to getting the ailing singer proper medical care.
