Etta James hospitalized with blood infection

Etta James, a 73-year-old blues singer, has been hospitalized with blood poisoning, her son Sametto James told Reuters news wire on Friday, May 13.
The Grammy winner has been battling leukemia, a cancer of the blood cells, as well as dementia. She is known for songs such as "At Last" and "The Wallflower."
Etta James was admitted to a California hospital earlier this week with a urinary tract infection and the blood infection sepsis, her son said, adding: "It was a really bad infection. Right now she's doing a lot better."
