Eric Dane of 'Grey's Anatomy' checks into rehab
Eric Dane of "Grey's Anatomy" fame has checked into a rehab clinic to battle an addiction to painkillers.
His spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Wednesday, July 20, that the 38-year-old actor entered a Los Angeles treatment facility voluntarily "to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus."
Dane plays Dr. Mark Sloan, aka "McSteamy" on the ABC medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy," which aired its seventh season finale in May.
"He reports back to work next week," Dane's spokesperson added. "Business as usual."
Dane's representatives had no immediate comment about whether the actor has undergone treatment to a painkiller addiction or to a similar ailment. It was unclear when Dane began his current rehab stint.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the actor and wife Rebecca Gayheart, a 39-year-old actress, are expecting their second child. The two have a 1-year-old daughter, Billie Beatrice.
