Eminem thanks fans for helping him through the hard times, after battling an addiction to prescription drugs.
The rapper made his comments at a concert in New York on Thursday, August 9, telling hundreds of fans that he "wouldn't have gotten out of that dark place without y'all," before playing his Grammy-winning single, "Not Afraid," according to the Associated Press.
Eminem said that his performance was "dedicated to anybody tonight who's been through personal struggles," according to the wire service.
During the performance at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom, Eminem performed more than a dozen songs, including the hits "Lose Yourself," "Love the Way You Lie" and "The Real Slim Shady." Hip-hop foursome Slaughterhouse opened for the Detroit-born rapper.
The 39-year-old musician detailed his addiction and battle for sobriety in his 2010 album, "Recovery," which was the year's best-selling album. He also won two Grammy awards in that year.
Earlier in the month, Eminem became the first person to hit 60 million likes on Facebook, which made him the most popular person on the social networking site, dead or alive.
