Ellen Degeneres shows off hip hop moves on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (Video)

Ellen Degeneres, a talk show host who recently quit her post as a judge on American Idol, recently showed off her moves on the hit FOX dance contest series So You Think You Can Dance.

Wearing a black and red jacket, red shirt and black pants, Degeneres filled in for injured contestant Alex Wong and danced furiously to the pulsing hip hop song "Outta Your Mind" by Lil Jon and LM*AO, along with contestant tWitch.

"I had so much fun and it broke my heart when I saw the injury and as a joke, I said 'This would be fun to do," Degeneres said after Thursday's performance, while Wong appeared on stage in crutches.

Degeneres later Tweeted: "I had 2 goals tonight. Not to trip while I was dancing with Twitch & to make Alex smile. I think I accomplished both."

The talk show host said earlier this month in a statement she had decided to leave American Idol after one season, citing a busy work schedule and saying she felt it difficult to "judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings."

The FOX singing contest show is currently going through a shake-up of judges amid declining ratings.

"Outta Your Mind" is featured on Lil Jon's album Crunk Rock, which was released in June.
