Ellen DeGeneres related to Kate Middleton?

Ellen DeGeneres says has found out she is related to Kate Middleton, who is set to marry Prince William of the United Kingdom in April.

DeGeneres said on a recent episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that the New England Historic Genealogical Society said in a letter that she was Middleton's 15th cousin. Middleton has not commented.

"Hold on to your crumpets everybody, this is really exciting," DeGeneres said, quoting the letter as saying: You are distant cousins." You're 15th, but cousins still the same. I'm related to Kate! I'm definitely invited to the wedding now. Kate, cuz!"

Middleton, 29, and Prince William, 28, met eight years ago when they were students. The two plan to wed in Westminster Abbey, the site of the 1997 funeral of his mother, Princess Diana, as well as the 1947 wedding of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The date of the wedding falls on a Friday and will be marked as a national holiday in the United Kingdom.
