Elise Testone after 'American Idol': Excited to see dog, talks Stevie Nicks

Elise Testone, the latest contestant to be eliminated from "American Idol," is looking forward to seeing her dog, who had become ill, and is also hoping to record music with iconic rocker Stevie Nicks, who sang with her and complimented her on the FOX singing contest series.

Testone, a 28-year-old rock singer from South Carolina, had a brief and tearful on-air discussion with host Ryan Seacrest about her pup's health on an episode that aired earlier this month.

"First thing I'll do when I get home is going to be pick up my dog at my friend's house and take him to the park and watch him run around and have fun and I'm going to have fun doing that," she said in a video interview posted on RyanSeacrest.com.

Testone was eliminated from the competition on Thursday, April 27, and performed Led Zeppelin's 1969 song "Whole Lotta Love." She sang the song in March and had earned a standing ovation from the judges.

Nicks, 63, was a guest mentor on that episode. During rehearsals, she and Testone sang part of the 1977 song "Dreams," made famous by the rocker's band Fleetwood Mac. Nicks had praised Testone and said on the show: "If I needed a singer I'd hire her in a second."

In her post-elimination interview, Testone said: "My dream project with Stevie Nicks would have to be writing a song together with her, recording it for an album that I put out and performing it with her live."

Nicks' spokesperson had no immediate response to Testone's comments. The singer is preparing to begin a second tour with crooner Rod Stewart in June.

Testone also said she would also "love to sing a duet" with "American Idol" co-judge Steven Tyler. He is preparing for his own tour with his rock band, Aerosmith. It also starts in June.

The remaining five contestants on "American Idol" are Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Skylar Laine, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips, who Seacrest had revealed on Wednesday's episode to be a crush of his girlfriend, Julianne Hough.

Next week, on Wednesday, May 2, the finalists will perform songs by British artists. The following night, one of the contestants is expected to be eliminated. Also, UK alternative rock band Coldplay and "American Idol" season 4 winner and Grammy recipient Carrie Underwood are set to perform.

The singer is promoting her fourth studio album, "Blown Away," which is set for release on May 1. Coldplay is currently touring the United States and Europe and is performing three sold-out shows in Los Angeles, where "American Idol" is taped, from May 1 to May 4. The group released its fifth studio album, "Mylo Xyloto," last October
