Denise Richards debuted her newly adopted daughter, Eloise Joni, Tweeting a photo of her and the baby in an Us Weekly feature which hit newsstands on Wednesday.

"She's brought so much joy, and I love her to pieces," Richards told Us Weekly. "She is a cuddle bug. She loves being hugged and held. She's such a beautiful little baby and little soul."

The actress, who has two daughters with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen, Lola, 6, and Sam, 7, confirmed the adoption to OnTheRedCarpet.com on June 30. Richards revealed that though she has had Eloise Joni since the day she was born, the adoption process was an arduous one.

"Some people think if a celebrity wants a baby, they get one the next day," Richards told the weekly. "The adoption took two years, and there were times I felt discouraged, times when I got close to adopting a baby and it fell through. But I knew the right baby would find us."

Richards, 40, named her daughter Eloise Joni Richards. Eloise was a name she chose with her daughters and Joni is her mother's name.

Richards is known for movies such as "Starship Troopers," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Wild Things." She also stars in the Spike TV series "Blue Mountain State." She and Sheen played an on-again, off-again couple in the 2001 romantic comedy film "Good Advice" and were married between 2002 and 2006.

Richards told Us Weekly that she talks to Sheen "every day" and he was supportive of her adoption.

"He knows how much I love, love kids, so he was very supportive," Richards said. "Charlie is truly very happy for me. He knows I always wanted more kids."

Sheen has been making headlines in recent months, mainly due to his firing from the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men," which occurred following a rehab stint and a slew of erratic, on-air rants.

Richards is releasing a book based on her relationship with Sheen, entitled "The Real Girl Next Door" which is set for release on July 27.

Sheen and third wife Brooke Mueller married in 2008. They are parents to 2-year-old twins, Max and Bob. The couple divorced in May.

In December, the actress was romantically linked to Nikki Sixx, bassist of the rock band Motley Crue. Richards also dated Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora between 2006 and 2007.
