Demi Moore divorce delayed? No papers filed yet, 1 year after split
It has been about a year since Demi Moore announced her plans to end her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, but it appears neither one of them has filed for divorce yet.
The two had wed in a Kabbalah ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills in September 2005. Photos from the event were published in OK! magazine, as seen on the website of BBC News. Moore's ex-husband Bruce Willis and their three daughters attended the wedding.
Following reports of alleged infidelity by Kutcher, which he never confirmed, Moore announced six years later, on Nov. 17, 2011, a week before Thanksgiving: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she said in a statement.
No divorce papers have been filed in Los Angeles County, where the two live, as of Friday, November 23, OTRC.com has learned. Reps for both Kutcher and Moore had no immediate comment. They have also not confirmed a recent report by the tabloid Radar Online, which quoted an unnamed source as saying that negotiations over the split have stalled.
According to California law, divorce documents must be filed at a court in the county where the person or their spouse has resided for the previous three months and they must also have lived in the state for the past six.
Following the split, Kutcher, 34, moved out of their Beverly Hills home. Moore suffered a health scare in January and was hospitalized briefly. She then reportedly underwent treatment at a rehab center in Utah and took a Caribbean vacation.
Moore, who celebrated her 50th birthday on November 11, and Kutcher have have largely stayed out of the spotlight since the split. Moore even stopped posting on Twitter for several months before returning earlier this spring. The actress, who went by the alias @mrskutcher, asked her followers -- who now total more than 5.5 million -- for suggestions for a new username before changing it in May to @JustDemi.
Several months ago, Kutcher began spending time with his former "That '70s Show" co-star, Mila Kunis, 29. Paparazzi have photographed the two kissing, hugging and holding hands, as recently as this week, according to Yahoo! OMG.
Moore has not commented publicly about the relationship. People magazine recently quoted an unnamed source as saying that Moore is "jealous and frustrated" by it.
The actress went on another Twitter hiatus over the summer and returned earlier this month, promoting her charity work with her and Kutcher's Demi and Ashton (DNA) Foundation, which works to stop sexual exploitation and abuse of children, and is also promoting her More fragrance and jewelry collection, a collaboration with Oriflame.
In June, Moore had filmed scenes for the movie "Very Good Girls," which stars Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Peter Sarsgaard, Clark Gregg, Ellen Barkin, Richard Dreyfuss and "Mad Men" actress Kiernan Shipka. The film is set for release in 2013.
Over the past year, Kutcher has been keeping busy with his regular acting job on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men" and also filmed the biopic "Jobs," which sees him play the late founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. He was photographed on the movie set in India in August.
