More details about Demi Lovato's upcoming recurring role on "Glee" have been revealed.

Warning: Spoiler alert!

Her character gets involved romantically with Santana, played by Naya Rivera, on a Beatles-themed episode of the the FOX musical comedy, which returns for a fifth season on Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. ET.

"She's playing my love interest so I'm very very excited about that," Rivera told MTV News. "We get to sing a song together. Yeah, it's going to be good. I'm excited to work with her. We're bringing her to the dark side."

FOX confirmed last week that Lovato is set to guest star on several episodes of "Glee." It will mark her first acting role since her Disney Channel series "Sonny with a Chance" ended in 2011. Over the past few years, the actress has battled depression, substance abuse, eating disorders and other issues. She has since made a comeback as an anti-bullying advocate and judge on FOX's "The X Factor."

Rivera told MTV News that Lovato will make her first appearance on a Beatles-themed episode and that the two will sing a track by the legendary 1960s group. The outlet reported that the first two shows of the season have a Beatles theme.

Lovato and "Glee" producers have not revealed the name of the actress' character. TV Line reported that she will play a New York City-based struggling artist who befriends Lea Michele's character, Rachel Berry.

Lovato tweeted on Monday: "Wayyyyy too excited to be starting @GLEE this week!!!!!!! I can't believe I'm going back to acting but the best part about it is that I get to act/sing with some of my really great friends.."
