Demi Lovato is set to embark on a North American summer tour, continuing her music career comeback following a 2010 rehab stint and highly-publicized battle with substance abuse and other personal turmoils.

The 19-year-old pop singer and former star of the Disney Channel series "Sonny With A Chance" is currently performing concerts in South America. She announced her new tour on Thursday, April 26, the day she is set to perform in Paraguay.

Lovato dropped out of a tour with the Jonas Brothers in 2010 to seek medical treatment for what she called "emotional and physical issues" and spent about two months at a facility. She has since opened up about her personal struggles with drugs, alcohol, anorexia and depression in print and television interviews.

The singer released her third studio album "Unbroken," in September 2011. It is the follow-up to her sophomore album "Here We Go Again."

Lovato will end her current tour in Mexico at the beginning of May and then kick off a new 21-date tour on June 12 with a performance in Del Mar, California.

"I am so excited to announce my upcoming US tour dates!!! I cannot wait to see you guys! http://www.demilovato.com/," she Tweeted.

Her new album, "Unbroken," featured her emotional debut single "Skyscraper," which has been certified platinum, with at least 1 million copies sold domestically. Her newest single, "Give Your Heart a Break" has been downloaded over 200,000 times and is gradually heading toward the top of the charts. The album was slated for release at an earlier date, but was postponed due to her rehabilitation.

The tour will boast a number of opening acts on select dates such as Hot Chelle Rae, known for their single "Tonight, Tonight," as well as Owl City, known for the 2009 single "Fireflies," which has sold more than 4 million copies.

Tickets for the tour are now on sale on Lovato's official website, demilovato.com.
