Deana Carter files for legal separation from husband of three years
Deana Carter, a country singer known for her single "Strawberry Wine," filed for legal separation from Brandon Malone, her husband of three years, on November 14.
The Associated Press reports that Carter cited irreconcilable differences in the documents, which were filed in Los Angeles.
The filing also states that the couple separated in August 2011, less than two years after the two wed in October 2009. The two have no children together, however, Carter has a son from a previous relationship.
There is no agreement within the filing which states how the couple's assets will be divided, according to the wire service.
Carter, a Nashville native, released her debut album "Did I Shave My Legs For This?" in 1996 to commercial success. The singer went on to release seven studio albums and one live album.
