David Letterman teases Donald Trump over Obama 'surprise' (Video)
David Letterman teased Donald Trump over his President Barack Obama "surprise."
On Wednesday, Trump said that if President Obama released his college transcripts and passport records and applications, he would donate $5 million to the charity of his choice.
When Trump appeared on "The Late Show" on October 25, he said he would even be willing to go higher than $5 million, for the sake of "transparency."
No other president has been asked to release this information and though Trump claimed that he would be happy if the records were perfect, he is the one who demanded the President reveal his birth certificate as well.
Letterman told the businessman that if CBS saw his own college transcripts, he would be out of a job as he "barely graduated." The talk show host also said that he drank his way through his sophomore year, to which Trump replied that Obama did drugs, referring to the president's admission that he has smoked marijuana in the past.
Letterman asked Trump if he had ever tried marijuana and when he said know, the host joked that he should smoke weed with him and "certain members of the band" after the show.
Since making his announcement, Trump has received criticism from many outlets, including Barbara Walters, who spoke of the offer on "The View."
"Donald, you and I have known each other for many years and you know that I am your friend and you know I think you are a brilliant businessman and you are great on television and you have a fascinating personality," Walters said. "Donald, you're making a fool of yourself. You're not hurting Obama, you're hurting Donald and that hurts me because you're a decent man. Stop it. Get off it, Donald."
