David Arquette to visit ex Courteney Cox on 'Cougar Town'
David Arquette and Courteney Cox have continually demonstrated that they had the most amicable split in Hollywood and now they will join forces on-screen on ABC's "Cougar Town."
Arquette is set to appear on the show's third season finale, as a "hotel concierge who offers to help Jules and the gang with literally anything," according to TV Line, who also had details about the upcoming season (Warning: Spoiler Alert).
"I'm so excited to act on #CougarTown @CourteneyCox @ChristaBMiller Can't wait!!!" Arquette wrote on Twitter on January 27.
"@davidarquette I can't wait to work with you. You better not be late," Cox wrote back.
The season hasn't premiered yet, but creators Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel have already announced that it will begin with an engagement between Jules (Cox) and Grayson (Josh Hopkins) and ends with a wedding.
"Bill and I did not want to do the 'Will they or won't they' thing," Biegel told TVLine. "We wanted to do a real adult relationship with two people who make sense together. So the third season starts with Jules and Grayson getting engaged, and it ends with them getting married."
Cox and Arquette announced in October 2010 that they had agreed to a trial separation. The couple met on the set of the 1996 horror film "Scream." Arquette, 39, and Cox, 46, married in June 1999 and have a daughter named Coco.
The pair recently appeared in "Scream 4" together and looked friendly during the press tour.
Arquette appeared on the recent 13th season of ABC's reality dancing competition "Dancing With The Stars." He and his partner Kym Johnson were eliminated in the seventh week, on November 1, 2011. War veteran and actor J.R. Martinez went on to win the mirror ball trophy.
He was romantically linked to "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis' ex-wife Christina McLarty in September and told Howard Stern that he is "not one to run around with different girls."
Earlier in the month, it was announced that "Cougar Town" would return to ABC's midseason schedule, replacing the cross-dressing comedy "Work It," which was canceled after airing two episodes. The show featured two men dressing up as women in order to find work and received criticism from LGBT advocacy organizations.
"Cougar Town" will join ABC's Tuesday comedy block on Valentine's Day, February 14, with an episode entitled, "Ain't Love Strange."
In the episode, Jules gets angry when Grayson calls her "predictable" and her best friend/neighbor Ellie (Christa Miller) worries that her son Stan is turning into a "devil child."
"Cougar Town" debuted in 2009 and stars Cox as a wine-loving Florida real estate agent and follows her relationship with her neighbors, son, ex-husband and co-workers.
"Cougar Town" is set to return at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, February 14 on ABC.
