David Arquette talks 'DWTS' week six, says it's no surprise people get fired up
David Arquette said it was no surprise Maksim Chmerkovskiy got fired up.
The 40-year-old actor and his partner Kym Johnson, 35, received 23 out of 30 from the judges for their Broadway-inspired Quickstep in week six of ABC's hit celebrity ballroom dancing series (read recap). The pair ended the night in fourth place.
"I'm in a place now where I'm very thankful about life, and this is an amazing opportunity as an actor in general," Arquette told OnTheRedCarpet.com after his performance. "I feel blessed to be able to do this for a living."
Arquette also spoke up Hope Solo's partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and his comments to the judges after his performance.
"It's a high pressure point in the competition, we're all really passionate about it, we want to stay here - so it's no surprise that people get fired up," Arquette added.
Contestant J.R. Martinez, known for his work in the military and roles in television shows such as "All my Children," and professional partner Karina Smirnoff tied with television personality Ricki Lake and partner Derek Hough for the top score of 29 out of 30 for their Quicksteps. Both pairs received scores consisting of two 10s and a nine.
The seven remaining pairs will return on Tuesday, October 25 for an elimination episode where the sixth couple is expected to be sent packing.
