David Archuleta is taking a break from his music career.
The 20-year-old "American Idol" season 7 runner-up announced on December 19 that he is taking the break from his music career in order to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

David Archuleta, an "American Idol" finalist and pop singer, has been dropped by his record label, Jive Records, according to reports.
"David was released from our roster," a Jive spokeperson confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter.
