Dave Matthews Band announces U.S. tour - see dates
The Dave Matthews Band announced the dates on February 15, for their first North American summer tour since 2010.
The band is promoting their 8th studio album which will be released this year, and will be the follow-up to the Platinum-certified "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in 2009. The Dave Matthews Band will kick off the North American tour on May 18 with a performance in Woodlands, Texas.
"@davematthewsbnd announces an extensive North American tour, which kicks off 5/18 in TX!," they posted on their official Twitter.
The tour will boast a number of opening acts such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Head and the Heart, Mariachi El Bronx, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Blind Pilot, Brandi Carlile, The Avett Brothers, Fitz and the Tantrums and more (See below).
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 9. Their official website contains further details including times, which are dependent on the venue, and presale information.
The group, who ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade, took 2011 off from touring, making this their first official performance run since 2010.
The Grammy-winning band also recently announced on their website that their upcoming album, that they are currently in the studio recording, will be with Steve Lillywhite, producer of their first three studio albums "Under The Table And Dreaming," "Crash" and "Before These Crowded Streets."
