Daniel Day-Lewis prepares for 'Lincoln' role

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis visited historic sites in Illinois to prepare for his upcoming role as Abraham Lincoln.
The Academy Award-winning actor will star in the movie, "Lincoln," which is based on the book "Team of Rivals" by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
On Friday, Day-Lewis and Goodwin were in Springfield touring the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Lincoln home, the Old State Capitol and the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices, according to the State Journal-Register.
Filming will begin next fall. The Steven Spielberg-directed movie is expected to be released in late 2012.
Day-Lewis won Academy Awards for his roles in "There Will Be Blood" and "My Left Foot."
