'Dancing with the Stars' dance-by-dance recap: A very 'Brady' ballroom
Our usual recap writer is off for the night, so this week we'll be a little straight forward about Monday night's Dancing with the Stars.
While last week the show went unplugged, this week the couples danced to some very special television theme songs. So who was hot on the dance floor while others left judges cold? Check out the recap below but be warned, spoilers ahead!
It seems like this week the judges threw out the dreaded double score showdown. Instead, the contestants were simply judged on their performances, and not judged separately for technique.
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy- 27 out of 30
Brandy and Maks seem to be more in step, earning the highest score of the night for their Quickstep to the Friends theme song, "I'll Be There for You" by The Rembrandts.
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough- 25 out of 30
Last week's champs, whose Argentine Tango nabbed the first tens of the season, were "out of sync" according to Carrie Ann Inaba. The two performed the Foxtrot to the Married&with Children theme, Frank Sinatra's "Love and Marriage."
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya- 24 out of 30
While Kurt and Anna's Quickstep to the Bewitched theme stong earned a standing ovation from the crowd, the judges weren't charmed enough to give them tens.
Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke- 24 out of 30
Rick and Cheryl managed to tie with Kurt and Anna for third place this week. Rick got to show off his hip action again, much to Carrie Anne's delight, with a slow and elegant Rumba to the Hill Street Blues theme song.
Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani- 23 out of 30
Audrina got to dance to her own television theme song from The Hills, "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield. While Tony and Audrina tried to show passion on the dance floor with a Rumba routine, the judges didn't seem to feel the spark.
Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas- 21 out of 30
After her television son, Barry Williams, popped in to show Corky how to really handle Florence on the dance floor, Florence got had a chance to revive some television nostalgia by trying her hand at the Tango to her Brady Bunch theme song.
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer- 20 out of 30
Kyle tried to bring some humor to his Charlie's Angels Foxtrot by donning a fake afro and mustache. He and Lacy, who rocked a Farah Fawcett type hairstyle, danced their way to seventh place.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas- 18 out of 30
Bristol and Mark hit the ballroom in monkey costumes to start off their Jive tribute to The Monkees, and despite Len's usual aversion to cheap theatrics; he actually liked the money suits! "In fact I would have liked you to keep them on a bit longer," Len said.
Tuesday night - another couple goes home and we'll be down to seven couples!
