Dakota Fanning turns heads in kimono-inspired dress - hit or miss? (Poll)
Dakota Fanning turned heads in a colorful kimono at the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday, June 4.
The 18-year-old actress, known for her work in the "Twilight" films, "Man on Fire," and "War of the Worlds," arrived to the event in a Proenza Schouler dress from the Fall 2012 collection. The long-sleeved dress appeared to be kimono-inspired and featured bright colors and an almost cut and paste look. The starlet completed her ensemble with black Proenza Schouler wedges and a metallic clutch.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) Fashion Awards were held at Alice Tully Hall on Monday, June 4th in New York City. The event is held annually and celebrates the top talent working in American fashion today. The 2012 event marked the CFDA's 50th anniversary and was hosted by "Saturday Night Live" head writer Seth Meyers.

In January, it was announced that the former child actress would star in the period drama "Effie" for what will mark one of her first acting roles as an adult. The movie follows the disastrous marriage between 19th-century art critic John Ruskin and his young bride, Effie Gray. The tumultuous union ended after Effie fell madly in love with young artist John Everett Millais.
