Crystal Bowersox to release album in December
Crystal Bowersox, runner-up of American Idol's recent ninth season, says she plans to release her debut album in December.
"I'm recording in New York and everything is going well," the 25-year-old singer told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "I am really excited. A lot of originals on there. I think I've only got three songs that aren't mine. I'm all about the artists writing the songs."
Bowersox was supposed to release the record in the spring but said the date has been moved to mid-December.Bowersox joined Grammy-winning rock singer Melissa Etheridge on stage at the recent "Pinktober" Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign event at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood.
"She's the real thing," Etheridge said. "She reminds me of me when I was young."
Bowersox recently announced she will marry her musician fiance, Brian Walker, in October. This is the first marriage for Bowersox, who has a 1-year-old son, Tony, from a previous relationship. Bowersox had broken up with her longtime boyfriend Tony Kusian just hours before her final American Idol performance in May.
