Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry to reunite on 'Go On'
A mini "Friends" reunion is set at NBC for Matthew Perry's new show "Go On."
It was announced on Tuesday, February 5, that former "Friends" star Courteney Cox will appear on "Go On," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cox, whose "Friends" character Monica was married to Perry's Chandler, has a one episode guest role that will air in April.
Perry plays Ryan King on the series, a sports talk radio who joins a support group to cope with his wife's death. Cox's character will come into play when she meets Anne (played by Julie White), a member of Ryan's support group who tries to set Cox's character up with Ryan.
The episode will be the first time Perry and Cox have appeared together on a scripted television series since "Friends" went off the air in 2004. Cox, who currently stars on "Cougar Town," has reunited with a few of her "Friends" co-stars in the past. Jennifer Aniston appeared on "Dirt," Cox's short-lived FX series, and "Cougar Town."
Cox and Lisa Kudrow reunited when Cox appeared on Kudrow's Showtime series "Web Therapy." The report notes that fellow "Friends" actor David Schwimmer has also appeared on Kudrow's series. Kudrow also had a guest spot on an episode of "Cougar Town."
Matt LeBlanc is currently playing a version of himself on the Showtime series "Episodes," which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical in 2012. He was nominated again this year but lost to "House of Lies" star Don Cheadle.
"Go On" airs on Tuesdays on NBC at 9 p.m.
