After news broke that "Community" would be going on an extended hiatus after NBC rescheduled their midseason Thursday night comedy lineup, fans of the show rallied together to bring it back with several social media campaigns.

The network recently announced the show would return to Thursday nights and now many of the show's stars are grateful to the loyal fans for keeping the show on the air.

"I'm indebted to them. I wish I could French kiss every one of them," star Joel McHale told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the "Community" panel at PaleyFest on March 3.

The show stars McHale, who also hosts "The Soup," as Jeff Winger, a former lawyer who goes to Greendale Community College to get his bachelor's degree after it is discovered he lied about having one. Once there, he unwillingly becomes part of a study group that includes Donald Glover, "Mad Men" actress Allison Brie, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase. Recent Oscar winner Jim Rash plays the school's flamboyant Dean.

"A lot of stuff happens. I get poisoned at one point so I lose my mind, which has happened a couple of times now," McHale said about the show's remaining 12 episodes for season 3.

His co-star Alison Brie, who also appears on "Mad Men," said, "We've had a lot of fun this season."

She teased, "There's a great 'Law & Order' [style] episode. Joel and I have quite a bit to do. We really go deep into the 'Law & Order' thing. We're involved. So it was a fun departure for all of us to be playing -- it felt like we were doing a drama. "

Brie added, "There's a great Annie and Abed episode coming up later in the season."

When the show returns, Rash said we'll see his character "[in] a lot of outfits, a lot of midriff and just a lot more of chasing after Jeff."

"Community" returns from hiatus on March 15 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
