"Once Upon A Time" as repotedly found its Captain Hook.
Irish actor Colin O'Donoghue has been cast as the evil pirate on the fairytale drama, reports Deadline.com. The actor will appear sometime during the show's second season.
Fans first learned that Captain Hook would make an appearance in the second season during Comic-Con where a teaser video was shown featuring the villain.
In the video, which can be seen below, a person dressed in pirate garb searching for a special item in Mr. Gold's Pawnshop. The person smashes a glass case and pulls out a hook. The hook then gets screwed onto a metal wrist.
The 31-year-old actor has appeared in films like "The Rite" and "Wild Decembers." He has also had roles on television series like "Proof," "The Tudors" and "The Clinic."
Captain James Hook first appears in J.M. Barrie's play "Peter Pan or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up" and the novel "Peter and Wendy." The character wears a hook in place of his right hand, which was cut off by Peter Pan and later eaten by a crocodile.
The pirate has a fear of the crocodile, that follows him around throughout his voyages on the sea. Hook is able to tell when the crocodile is nearby when he hears the ticking of a clock the crocodile once ate.
Dustin Hoffman played the character in the 1991 film "Hook" with Robin Williams as a grown Peter Pan. British actor Jason Isaacs, who is known for his portrayal of Lucius Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" franchise, played the evil pirate in the 2003 adaptation of "Peter Pan" and also played Wendy's father, George Darling, in the film.
On the season finale of "Once Upon A Time," the spell over the town appeared to be broken as the modern day characters started to remember their fairy tale beginnings and a purple cloud began to engulf the town.
"Once Upon a Time" actors Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Meghan Ory and Emilie de Ravin attended the panel with the show creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
The new season began filming on July 16, the cast told the crowd, according to The Associated Press. The creators also promised that Henry's father would be revealed in season 2.
The show stars Morrison as Emma Swan, the daughter of Snow White (Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Dallas). Swan is also Henry's biological mother but she gave the child up for adoption at birth. The baby was later adopted by the Evil Queen (Parrilla).
"Once Upon A Time" returns on Sept. 30, 2012 and will air on Sundays at 8 p.m. Check out the season 2 preview of "Once Upon A Time" below.
