Claire Danes and husband Hugh Dancy have welcomed their first bundle of joy.

Danes, 33, and Dancy, 37, welcomed a son named Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy on Monday, December 17, the "Homeland" actress' rep confirmed to OTRC.com.

Danes and the 37-year-old English actor met on the set of their 2007 movie "Evening." They wed in France in September 2009, after announcing their engagement in February of that year.

In September, the actress nabbed the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as bipolar CIA agent Carrie Matheson in the terrorism-themed Showtime show "Homeland," which marked her second Emmy win and first Emmy for the part. She thanked Darcy in her speech, dubbing him her "baby daddy."

In January, Danes won the 2012 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama for her role on "Homeland," marking her third win. She is nominated for her fourth Golden Globe for the 2013 ceremony (check out a full list of nominations).

"Homeland" marks Danes' return to television full time since the short-lived 1990s teen angst-filled drama "My So-Called Life," which launched the actress' career and earned the actress her first Golden Globe. She won her second for the 2010 television film "Temple Grandin," which also earned the actress her first Emmy.

Danes is also known for her roles in movies such as "Romeo + Juliet," "Stardust" and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines."

Dancy is known for his roles in "King Arthur," "Black Hawk Down," "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "Hysteria." He is slated to star in the upcoming NBC series "Hannibal," adapted from Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon."
