Christina Aguilera showcases slim figure at Time 100 gala (Poll)
Christina Aguilera cut a slim figure at TIME's 100 Gala, an annual celebration of the "100 Most Influential People in the World."
The "Beautiful" singer, who was among the event's honorees, strutted the step-and-repeat on April 23 in a black, floor-length Victoria Beckham gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin heels. Favoring platinum ringlets swept to one side, Aguilera also wore ruby lipstick that matched the red carpet.
The svelte look was a significant change from Aguilera's appearance in October 2012 at the American Music Awards, which showcased bolder colors and more bodacious curves (See photo above).
Aguilera, who is currently on hiatus from mentoring on NBC's "The Voice," was among 100 entertainment, media and political luminaries chosen by the magazine for their world influence, including President Barack Obama, Lena Dunham, Kate Middleton, Frank Ocean, Daniel Day-Lewis and Beyonce. Aguilera later performed the song "Lady Marmalade" at the ceremony.
"The TIME 100 List is not about the influence of power," explained Rick Stengel, TIME's Managing Editor, at the event's press conference. "It's about the power of influence. It's about men and women, who, through their diligence, through their innovation, through their ideas, have influenced others.
For the occasion, Celine Dion wrote an essay in TIME about Aguilera, and described the 32-year-old singer as "one of the most talented artists the world has ever seen and heard."
"The first time I heard Christina Aguilera sing, I was totally blown away," the Canadian chanteuse wrote. "I love the way she sings. Her tone is beautiful, and her voice has got so much power, yet so much sensitivity -- and technically, I think, she's flawless."
In addition to Christina Aguilera, the red carpet also featured glamorous looks from Roma Downey, Jessica Biel and Olivia Munn. Who do you think looked the most stunning at the TIME 100 gala? Vote in our poll below!
