Christie Brinkley vows to pay $531,000 in back taxes immediately
Christie Brinkley has vowed to resolve her tax problems immediately.
The former supermodel said she'll repay $531,000 she owes in back taxes in full by Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.
Brinkley said in a statement the tax lien filed by the IRS last month was a "result of an error," adding that she regrets not paying more attention to her accounting.
The 57-year-old said she's been busy dealing with her parents' health issues.
According to the UK Daily Mail, Brinkley had an estimated worth of $80 million in 2008 and owns a lot of real estate, mostly in the Hamptons.
Brinkley made her acting debut in 1983 in "National Lampoon's Vacation" with Chevy Chase. She also appeared in its 1997 sequel, "Vegas Vacation." She made her Broadway debut earlier this year as Roxie Hart in the musical "Chicago."
Brinkley has been married four times, to artist Jean-François Allaux, Billy Joel, real estate developer Richard Taubman and most recently to architect Peter Halsey Cook. Brinkley and Cook finalized their divorce in October 2008.
