"Star Trek" actor Chris Hemsworth made sure to bulk up for his latest role on the big screen as a muscle-clad mythological hero in "Thor." "Oh he looks like a superhero," his co-star Natalie Portman said about Hemsworth in a satellite interview with media outlets last month. "He is fully superhero-ed out!" Hemsworth plays Thor, the God of Thunder who is exiled to Earth after his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) chastises him for arrogance. Portman plays Jane Foster, a scientist and the human love interest of Thor. The film hits theaters on May 6. "It was a lot of Gym time and force feeding myself lots of protein," Hemsworth told OnTheRedCarpet.com about his training during the film's premiere on May 3. "I had the comic books there and I noticed that the character was ten times bigger than I was. So that was some good motivation." Hopkins, recently complimented Hemsworth at the premiere telling reporters, "Great star in Chris Hemsworth." Hopkins went on to say, "It's just good old legend. Good old piece of mythology." Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor in the upcoming "Avengers" movie, which will also star Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. The movie is set for release on May 4, 2012. The actor says playing a superhero is something everyone dreams of as a child. "I think most of us run around as young kids pretending to be a superhero of some kind," Hemsworth said. "To do it as a slightly bigger kid years later is still the dream."
