Chris Brown may quit music, spent 40 minutes in jail (Poll)
Is Chris Brown quitting music?
The 24-year-old Grammy-winning R&B singer said on Twitter on Tuesday, Aug. 6: "Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album."
"X," Brown's sixth studio album, is set to be released in late August or early September. His 2011 album "F.A.M.E.," was certified gold -- it sold at least 500,000 copies in the United States. His most successful albums are his self-titled 2005 record and "Exclusive," released in 2007. Both sold more than two million copies.
Brown's tweet was posted a day after he turned himself in at a police station over hit-and-run charges stemming from a May car accident. He had last month pleaded not guilty. He spent a total of 40 minutes at a Los Angeles jail on Monday afternoon, according to records obtained by OTRC.com.
A judge ruled that Brown had violated his probation, issued following his 2009 assault case involving Rihanna. He has a hearing over the matter on Aug. 18.
"Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18 (sic)," he added on Twitter on Tuesday. "I'm cool & over it!"
