Chelsea Handler hints of Dave Salmoni split on talk show

Chelsea Handlers appears on her E! talk show 'Chelsea Lately' on Sept. 1, 2010. (Photo courtesy of E!) Chelsea Handler recently hinted on her E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, that she and Animal Planet star Dave Salmoni have broken up, although the Canadian zoologist has not commented.

Handler, a 35-year-old comedienne, said in July that she and Salmoni, 34, were dating. She and Ted Harbert, the 55-year-old CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, which owns E!, split earlier this year.

"I have been working for the E! network for over three years now, and in addition to hosting this chucklefest of a show, I've given many suggestions on how to improve the quality of their entire network," Handler said on Chelsea Lately during her monologue on Wednesday.
"As you can tell by the current line-up of shows, they have taken none of my suggestions," she said. "So I've decided to consult for other networks. Up until a couple weeks ago, I was working very intimately with the Animal Planet, but unfortunately, that contract was terminated. However, I enjoyed being in bed with them and may hook up for an occasional project."
