Warren Beatty and Annette Bening's transgender 19-year-old son Stephen Ira Beatty has been making headlines for saying he doesn't want Chaz Bono to be the spokesmodel for transgendered people.

Bono, the transgendered son of singer Cher and a recent "Dancing With The Stars" contestant, opened up about undergoing a sex change to become a man and made several comments which Stephen Ira believes to be misogynistic.

Neil Patrick Harris, partner David Burtka and Chaz Bono were recently honored by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center at its 40th Anniversary Gala.

Harris and Burtka, who have supported the group and other LGBT organizations for years, were given the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award at the event on Saturday. The two have been together for more than six years and are parents to twins.

Chaz Bono has been making several life changes lately, ending his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia and now making plans to undergo penile reconstruction, the final step in his transition from female to male.

The LGBT activist and recent "Dancing With The Stars" contestant told Rolling Stone magazine that he was saving up for the risky surgery and discussed the options.

Chaz Bono shared his proposal to longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia just weeks ago on the OWN documentary, "Being Chaz," but the LGBT activist and recent "Dancing With The Stars" contestant has now ended his engagement.

"They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time," Bono's publicist Howard Bragman said in a statement to TMZ.

Chaz Bono didn't take home the "Dancing With The Stars" mirror ball trophy, but he got the next best thing -- another OWN documentary special.

And when the documentary airs on Sunday, November 27, fans will see the LGBT activist propose to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia.

Just because Chaz Bono was booted from the ballroom this week on "Dancing With The Stars," it doesn't mean the LGBT activist is going away from the spotlight.

It was announced on Thursday that Bono will star in a follow-up to his OWN documentary special "Becoming Chaz" which aired in May. The new documentary special will be titled "Being Chaz" and will chronicle Bono's relationship with his girlfriend after his gender reassignment surgery.

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Chaz Bono's casting on the 13th season of "Dancing With The Stars" was controversial from the start and the LGBT activist set out to win the hearts television audiences. Though it was an uphill battle, Bono said his time on the show was "a life-changing experience."
