The man who was arrested for allegedly breaking into LL Cool J's Los Angeles-area home has been charged with first-degree burglary with a person present, which is a felony offense, and could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The intruder was identified by police as Jonathan A. Kirby, 56. He was hospitalized with serious injuries after the "NCIS: Los Angeles" actor overpowered him inside his house on Wednesday, prosecutors added. He was charged on Thursday, August 23, and has not commented.

An intruder learned the hard way he broke into the wrong celebrity home. He found himself face-to-face with LL Cool J, who took the matter into his own hands.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed with KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company, that the burglary suspect made his way into the 44-year-old star's home at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22.

The 420-acre property is located in Paradise Valley and as Quaid told the Wall Street Journal, "The backyard is basically Yellowstone Park."
