CeeLo Green gets TBS reality show, feat. Goodie Mob
Miss watching CeeLo Green on "The Voice"? You'll get to see him on TV soon enough and also get to know him better, because he is getting his own reality show.
The pop star is set to appear in an unscripted series tentatively titled "The CeeLo Life." The cable channel TBS announced on Friday, May 10, that it has ordered six episodes of the show, which will premiere in 2014 and will showcase CeeLo's life and his work with Goodie Mob. The hip hop group is preparing to release a fifth album, "Age Against the Machine," on Aug. 27.
Green is also serving as an executive producer of "The CeeLo Life," whose production companies are his firm, Emerald TV Productions, and Rogue Atlas.
"On behalf of Emerald, we are honored for this opportunity to entertain and extend the life of a long legacy of classic programming at TBS -- which in our book stands for The Best Station," CeeLo said in a TBS statement obtained by OTRC.com "Atlanta, your native sons, the Goodie Mob, will make us all proud."
CeeLo left the NBC singing contest series "The Voice" earlier this year, along with fellow coach Christina Aguilera. He had said last September that he planned to focus on other projects, mentioning his Las Vegas show "Loberace," his new solo album -- his first in 20 years, which was released on May 7 -- and a new Goodie Mob album. He added: "I will return for season 5 and will be watching season 4."
The current fourth season of "The Voice" features new coaches Shakira and Usher as well as veteran cast members Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. CeeLo returned to the show to give a guest performance on Wednesday.
