'Castle' gets additional episode order; bumps third season up to 24 episodes
The dynamic crime-fighting duo of Rick Castle and Detective Kate Beckett has been charming viewers all season and it looks like the success has paid off. ABC has added on two more episodes of "Castle" to their season order, reports Entertainment Weekly.
That means "Castle" fans will have a total of 24 episodes for the third season to enjoy. With a lead in from "Dancing With the Stars" the show has been earning a second place spot in the ratings for Monday nights, making this season one of the show's strongest.
It was recently announced that Laura Prepon of "That '70s Show" is set to guest star on the series as Natalie Gray, an actress who will play fictional heroine Nikki Heat in a film adaptation of protagonist Richard Castle's crime novels that will be depicted on the show.
Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, based his character Heat on Beckett, played by Stana Katic. Prepon, 30, is set to appear in a "Castle" episode in early 2011, an ABC spokesperson said. Her character, Gray, will travel to New York and shadow Castle and Beckett during a case, which revolves around the murder of a millionaire matchmaker.
