Carrie Underwood served as a guest co-host on ABC's "Good Morning America" ("GMA") on Monday, Aug. 12, and brought her some very special, furry friends -- puppies!

Wearing an cinnabar-printed, silk wool mikado, 3/4-sleeve Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013 dress, the 30-year-old Grammy-winning country music star and former "American Idol" winner presented the show's "Pop News" segment -- which also included two stories about puppies -- and participated in a game show titled "Jukebox Carrie."

Underwood, who majored in mass communications when she was a student at Northeastern State University in her native state of Oklahoma, sat at the anchors' desk where presenter Lara Spencer usually sits and snuggled a black puppy. Spencer, who was filling in for regular co-anchor Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Josh Elliot and Ginger Zee played with other pups.

Underwood said the dogs are up for adoption and also talked about her own pooches, who she takes with her on tour.

Underwood wrapped up a 110-city tour earlier this year. She appeared on "GMA" to promote her new concert DVD, "The Blown Away Tour: LIVE," which is set for release on Tuesday.

During "Jukebox Carrie," the singer, Spencer and Stephanopolous had to identify songs after listening to several seconds of them. One of them was Underwood's. She won the mock game show and received a trophy.

"Thank you, I'd like to thank the Academy," she joked.
