Carol Burnett to guest star on 'Glee' as 'Nazi hunter mother' according to Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch, star of the hit FOX television series, Glee, was honored in Hollywood with her own Madame Tussauds wax figure on Aug. 4. The figure represents her beloved character on the show, Sue Sylvester, complete with bullhorn and track suit.
Lynch spoke with OnTheRedCarpet.com about exciting casting news for the new season. "Yes, Carol Burnett, I think, is going to be playing my Nazi hunter mother come back after, you know, abandoning me and my sister for so many years. I think that's the story."
Burnett has made few television appearances in recently years including a small role as Bree's wicked stepmother on Desperate Housewives. The Glee episode featuring Burnett is scheduled to air in the fall.
In addition to the Burnett news, Lynch told reporter Cari Skillman that she was "flattered" to have her character honored with a wax figure stating, "It's pretty amazing. She's kind of iconic, and I'm really proud that I get to put on the track suit every day."
She also revealed that while she was never in a glee club, she was on her high school's choir. "I was in the high school choir, we didn't have a glee club," she said. "There was no more fun for me during the school day than to go to choir."
The second season of Glee will begin on Sept. 21.
