Cameron Diaz is reportedly in final negotiations to star in a movie adaptation of "What to Expect When You're Expecting."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Diaz will play the host of a weight-loss fitness show in the Lionsgate flick, which is based off of the best-selling nonfiction pregnancy guidebooks. The storyline will follow five couples in various stages of the childbirth process.

Kirk Jones, who directed "Nanny McPhee" will helm the project, based on a script by Shauna Cross and Heather Hach.

"What to Expect When You're Expecting," written by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel, was named one of USA Today's "25 Most Influential Books" of the past 25 years. It has consistently topped the New York Times Best Seller list in the paperback category.

Diaz, 38, has been linked to New York Yankee player Alex Rodriguez, 35, since last July and was seen vacationing in Los Cabos, Mexico in December with A-Rod's daughters.

Diaz recently co-starred in the superhero movie, "The Green Hornet," which starred Seth Rogen and was released on Jan. 14, 2011. The actress told OnTheRedCarpet.com that in preparation for the role, she had to "get smart."

In her next movie, "Bad Teacher," Diaz plays a foul-mouthed junior high teacher who seduces a colleague after being dumped by her sugar daddy. It co-stars Jason Segel and Diaz's ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and is set for release on June 24, 2011.
