The Showtime comedy-drama series "Californication," starring David Duchovny, will end its run after the upcoming seventh season.

A spokesperson confirmed the news to OTRC.com on Monday, Dec. 9. Season 7 is set to premiere in April 2014.

"Californication" debuted in 2007. Duchovny, formerly of "X-Files" fame, plays sex addict and New York novelist Hank Moody and won a Golden Globe for his role in 2008. He stars with Natascha McElhone, Madeleine Martin and Evan Handler.

Season 7 is set to feature guest stars Heather Graham, who will play a woman from Moody's past, and "24" alum Mary Lynn Rajskub, who will portray a neurotic writer, Entertainment Weekly reported in April.
