Britney Spears confirms Las Vegas concert show, on 'GMA' (Video)
Britney Spears is bringing her work to Las Vegas in a two-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, the singer confirmed on "Good Morning America."
Following speculation and rumors that surfaced after the singer departed the FOX show "The X Factor" in January, the singer made the official announcement on "Good Morning America" that her Las Vegas show, "Britney: Piece of Me," will begin Dec. 27, 2013.
She tweeted about the show following her "GMA" appearance, saying, "But yes it's TRUE! Proud to announce that I will be taking over Vegas at @phvegas starting in Dec. #PlanetBritney."
Spears' Vegas residency is said to be a hybrid of club-meets-theater, with the singer telling "Good Morning America", "We wanted the environment to be that way so people could come and have a good time and stand up and feel like they're in the show with me. I love Vegas. The energy here is really, really good."
The "Work B----" singer revealed that her show would encompass many of her biggest hits but also include material from her upcoming eighth studio album. Tickets for Spears' first shows of her Planet Hollywood residency go on sale beginning on Tuesday. Click here to purchase tickets.
Spears also announced that her currently untitled eighth studio album will be released on Dec. 3, 2013. The disc will feature her current single, "Work B----," which Spears released to fans a day early after a low-quality version of the song surfaced online Sunday. The dance track features Spears putting on a British accent, singing "You wanna live fancy / Live in a big mansion / Party in France / You better work b----."
Spears is also set to take part in the iHeartRadio Music festival this weekend, tweeting to her more than 31 million Twitter followers, "PS - @iHeartRadio Fest, I will see u Saturday! Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time in Vegas this week.;)"
