Bristol Palin hits back at Kathy Griffin for fat joke
Bristol Palin is no pushover. After responding to Margret Cho's accusations that Sarah Palin forced her to do "Dancing With the Stars", the eldest Palin daughter is now hitting back at Kathy Griffin.
Griffin, who was one of the featured performers at "VH1 Divas Salute the Troops", told a few jokes about Palin's weight and appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" during her set on the special.
"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight. No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week," Griffin joked to the crowd of an estimated 27,000 men and women in uniform at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.
"It was fantastic. She's like the white 'Precious,'" Griffin added, referring to the 2009 Oscar-nominated film about an obese and illiterate 16-year-old named Claireece P. "Precious" Jones in Harlem during 1987.
"The audience's reaction to this 'comedian' spoke volumes," Bristol Palin told Fox News on Monday, referring to the audience's booing after Griffin told the joke. "The decent people I know would probably have booed her, too. I hope people didn't have to pay money to hear her negativity and criticisms."
The Palin joke wasn't the only stunt Griffin pulled during the "Divas" special. The 50-year-old comedian later strutted her stuff across the stage clad only in a in a camouflage bikini. Check out a full photo of Griffin in our photo gallery from the event.
