Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson engaged again, report says; Sarah Palin has not commented Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are reportedly engaged to be married again, following their breakup after she gave birth to their son Tripp in 2008, and have not yet received the blessing of their parents, including her mother and former U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

"We got engaged two weeks ago," Bristol Palin, 19, told Us Weekly magazine in an interview published on Wednesday. "It felt right, even though we dont have the approval of our parents."

Sarah Palin has not responded to the report.

"It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be," she added about Sarah Palin. "Hopefully she will jump on board."

Bristol Palin was engaged to Johnson, 20, in 2008 and gave birth to Tripp that December at age 18, which became a major issue during her mothers' vice presidential campaign, launched that year with Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Several weeks later, Bristol Palin and Johnson called off their engagement.

Bristol Palin filed a legal petition in November seeking sole custody of her son and child support payments from Johnston. But she told told Us Weekly they reconnected three months ago while working out a custody plan for Tripp.

"I really thought we were over," Johnston said. "So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking and then we took Tripp for a walk."

Bristol Palin added: "When he left that night, we didnt hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' ... I was in shock."

Since the campaign, the relationship between Sarah Palin and Johnston has turned into a public war on words. He publicly accused her of calling her son Trig "the retarded baby" and also said the Palins are on the verge of divorce, which Sarah Palin has denied.

Johnston has since his breakup with Bristol Palin posed for Playgirl magazine and made public appearances. Sarah Palin has said he was acting "irresponsible" about his career and finances and called him "misguided" and "lost".

Johnston apologized last week for hostile statements he had made about the Palin family, including  saying: "I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true. I have already privately apologized to Todd and Sarah."

Bristol Palin, who recently appeared on ABC Family's teen pregnancy-oriented drama series The Secret Life of the American Teenager had said: "Tripp one day needs to know the truth and needs to know that even if a mistake is made the honorable thing to do is to own up to it."

Us Weekly executive editor Caroline Schaefer told NBC's The Today Show that Bristol Palin had approached the magazine looking for a platform to explain why they became engaged and that they'll probably see a marriage counselor before their wedding.
